Key Ingredients

African Black Soap: Fair trade and handmade by women in Ghana, African black soap has a long history in West African bathing and skincare traditions. Crafted with cocoa pod ash, plantain peel ash, plant oils, shea butter, honey, and camwood bark, it forms the cleansing foundation of this wash.

Red Acalypha: Traditionally valued for soothing dry, uncomfortable skin, red acalypha has also been studied for its antimicrobial activity and potential in topical skin care. We steep its leaves in distilled water as part of our herbal infusion.

Stinging Nettles: Valued for its skin-calming potential, stinging nettle contains naturally occurring antioxidant compounds. Research on nettle extracts has demonstrated antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity in skin-cell studies, supporting its place in soothing herbal skincare.

Yarrow: Yarrow is valued in skincare for its soothing and conditioning properties. Research on topical yarrow extracts has shown benefits for calming irritated skin and supporting hydration recovery—properties that explain its longstanding use in herbal skin-care preparations.

Directions

Dispense a small amount onto a soft, wet washcloth. Gently cleanse your baby’s body, avoiding the eyes and mouth. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and gently pat dry.

For an optional after-bath routine, apply Oma Baby Herbal Baby Lotion, followed by Herbal Baby Oil as needed to help lock in moisture.

Distilled Water, African Black Soap (Cocoa Pod Ash, Palm Kernel Oil, Honey, Coconut Oil, Plantain Peel Ash, Shea Butter, Camwood Bark), Red Acalypha (Acalypha wilkesiana) Extract, Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica) Extract, Yarrow Powder, Aloe Vera Leaf Extract, Lauryl Glucoside, Vegetable Glycerin, Gluconolactone, Sodium Benzoate, Xanthan Gum, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Vitamin E.

4 fl oz (118 mL) and 8 fl oz (237 mL), packaged in white BPA-free PET bottles with screw-top caps.

Caution

For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. Do not apply to broken skin. Patch test on a small area before use and discontinue if irritation occurs.

Contains honey, coconut oil, and shea butter. Do not use if your baby has a known allergy to yarrow or related plants in the daisy family. For persistent dryness or irritation, consult your pediatrician.

Never leave your baby unattended in the bath. Keep out of children’s reach.
